What are your plans for the weekend? What does you preteen/teen have going on this weekend?

Tomorrow is my oldests birthday, she is going to be 17. So some celebration is in order but she has requested not much.

We are going to spend a lot of time watching lacrosse since Dannie has several games.

Then a light Easter, mostly just some baskets and dinner with the five of us.

I was hoping for a productive weekend with cleaning the camper and my craft desk mess on the to do list, but I'm not feeling so hot right now and am starting to have the feeling that this will be a down weekend for me...hoping not though.

We are having a simple Easter dinner here at the house with just the 4 of us on Sunday

Its a regular weekend for us here, we dont celebrate Easter, were not Christian.

However, we have gotten the to be expected letter just before religious holiday from my "take-Catholocism-to-the-extreme" mother whom I no longer speak to (for other reasons) about how im a terrible person and how she has no daughter and how im raising satan's spawn (no really, that part was in this year's version of the Easter letter, satan's spawn, im going to assume that is a reference to my oldest daughter being a lesbian, once again) oh and apparently I will burn it a pit of flames and have condemed my family to the same fate.

Sorry, that went entirely off topic, im fuming and needed to vent.

Anyway, back on topic, were not doing anything out of the ordinary, my kids did volunteer for the Good Friday Appeal yesterday (huge fundraiser for the Royal Children's Hospital)

Wow! Cybele I'm sorry.
I just have to say as a Christian myself, it makes me sad and angry to hear someone say such hateful, vicious lies to their own family in the name of their so-called faith. That is not what being a Christian is supposed to look like! I promise we are not all like that. I'll be praying for your mother that Jesus would change her heart.
Okay.... climbing down off soap box now. You can vent here any time you need to.
And how awesome of your kids to volunteer for the children's hospital! As someone who spends A LOT of time in one, I appreciate it.

Our weekend was crazy busy. (why I'm just now responding to this post) We had church services Thursday and Friday night, party prep all day Saturday, a full morning at church on Sunday and then a huge family Easter party at our house afterwards. Its a family tradition every year. This year was our turn to host and we had 40 guests. Food, drinks, music, egg hunts, games, the whole bit. We hid 120 egs this year and the kids found every one in record time. I'm exhausted and my house is a mess but it was worth it.
