I just wanted to introduce myself, my names Britney & I'm from the Oct DDC. I've been a high risk pregnancy for a couple months now because my baby girl is so small. I will be 35 weeks this Saturday, and at last Friday's U/S she was only weighing 3 lbs 1oz, other then being small though she is very healthy and very active. My doctors think i have reduced placental function because she seems to only be gaining 3-4l oz. a week. We were pushing for 37 weeks, because she is still growing and is healthy but since Monday the plans have changed, here is a post of what I've been updating to my DDC:

I just would love extra support and any advice or encouraging words would be so helpful. I am really scared but i want to do what is best for my little girl.

Hi Britney!!! I wish things were going better and you didn't need to come over here, but with how it's going, I'm glad you found this forum! Just know this: at 34-35 weeks, the odds of your daughter being totally healthy and normal after leaving the NICU are really good. My neighbor has 4 daughters, all of which were born around 34-36 weeks, and they've all grown up to be strong and fabulous women leading totally normal lives--one just got married a couple months ago. I will not lie, the NICU stinks, but once you get past it, you guys are going to be OK!

Keep us posted about how things are going, we're all rooting for you and your little girl!!!

Hey again, Britney! I'm from the Sept DDC - welcome!

Having a LO in the NICU is definitely hard! My little man was due Sept 24 and came August 8, and he is doing absolutely awesome as a 33-weeker (though still in the NICU). As a 32-weeker myself, I can honestly say that the outlook for your little girl is definitely high. She will beat everyone's expectations of her and I bet she will amaze the NICU staff with her growth. Even as small as she is she sounds amazingly strong.

She's a beautiful little thing (I love her photos) and I wish you the best of luck! Keep us posted on her progress.
