Not sure if it's teething, or a full moon? Or whatever... but the past 2 days Declan has been a BEAR! He is newly into this tantrum stage where everything frustrates him, and he'll just start throwing himself on the floor and kicking his legs and flopping like a fish out of water. His language is coming along great, but not as quick as his thoughts/desires I guess!

And on the other side is my teenage daughter who is driving me nuts! She has started lying about petty little things... (did you throw compost in the garbage? um no! after I just watched her do it, or did you fold your laundry and then put it away? um yeah! and then I check and it's all balled up and shoved into drawers). She's been slacking severely at school as well. I've gotten emails and calls from teachers telling me that her homework isn't getting done (and I can't enforce it well at home.. long story), and that she's sometimes lying about going in for extra help at lunch..

I know how you feel about the tantrum stage. Amaya has been doing that for about two months now. The first time she did it, I couldn't help but laugh because it just looked so funny. Needless to say, I'm not laughing any more. Amaya has been incredibly spoiled through our entire experience with her, and now that I'm trying to enforce some rules and make her understand that she can't stay on my hip all the time, she's getting extremely fiesty.

As far as the teenager goes, I can't offer much help there. Amaya is my first child and I'm struggling with a one-year-old... I know that my brother has acted like that since he hit his teenage years. Unfortunately, he's never changed, and he got so far behind with school that my parents finally had to make the decision to withdraw him from high school so he could get his GED. He and I are complete opposites. I graduated with Honors and loved school. He did everything in his power to stay away from school....
