how many of u gave birth to a preemie? how many weeks were u? how long was ur baby in for? any problems/complications? curious as i am 31 weeks now thanks
I was 32.3 weeks. Siera was in the NICU for 19 days. She has three different heart defects and is actually going in for a procedure at the end of May. Other than that you wouldn't know she's a preemie either.
My twins were born 6/10/12 obviously still in the NICU (will update duration when they come home) born at 24 weeks 2 days so far all they have had was a grade one brain bleed the Dr's expect they will have no permeant issues at this time other then being behind a bit developmentally. They have had a bout of pneumonia which antibiotics cleared up quickly. The target date for them to come home will be September 30.
I've had 7 preemies.
2 were 31 weekers and 1 32 weeks.
My first 31 weeker spent 6 weeks in the NICU.
My 2nd spent 5.5wks in the NICU and my 32 weeker spent 2 weeks in the NICU but came home on O2 and ended up going back for a week.
They are all perfectly healthy and you'd never know they were preemies.

My twins were born at 25w5d. Raegan was 1lb9.5oz and Liam was 1lb 15oz. Raegan passed away about 20 hours after birth from a hemorrage in her lungs. Liam had to have a PDA ligation, he had tubes in his lungs and came home on oxygen. Now he is 15 months old and is 100% healthy and fabulous
Also forgot to add my DD Halle was born at 32 weeks exactly and she spent 7 days in the NICU ( Which the nurses and even the Dr's couldn't believe) she was very healthy and we were lucky. Halle never needed oxygen or any breathing assistance but did not take to the breast but did great with a bottle.
