has anyone had a baby at 34-35 weeks? if so, what was the reason for delivering early? how heavy was baby(s)? and how long was their stay in hospital? I am asking as I am 33+4 and have a growth scan next week due to being small for dates and may have to deliver early but worried about how long my baby will be in after birth as I am a single mum of 3, thanks

It really will depend on how your baby's lungs are and if it can keep it's temp up and feed properly. There is no guideline really with preemies other than you can usually expect them home around their due dates if they have a NICU stay. It really all up to the docs and how your baby is doing...

my first baby was 35 weeks. i had a csection due to pre-e. i had steroid shots beforehand so he did not have any breathing problems. i also had gestational diabetes so even 5 weeks early he was 7lbs 1 oz. nicu stay was 11 days. i dont really remember why he was in there so long.

my second baby was 35 weeks 6 days when born. he was 6lbs when born. no steroid shots csection due to pre-e. he had breathing problems was on the cpap maching for a week or so. then on the nasal canula until he was breathing on his own. he was in the nicu for 2 weeks exactly.

My son was born at 34 weeks. No reason known. He was 6lbs 9oz 19 "long. He had to stay in the nicu for 12 days because he was not able to suck. Everything else was fine. While he was there he also had a spinal tap. Everything ended up fine and i was so happy when i was able to bring him home!!
