I have not been on here in awhile. My daughter was a 26 weeker born at 1lb 2 oz. She was in the nicu for 7 weeks then the Children's Hospital for 11 weeks before she came home. She just started walking these past couple weeks at age 20 months. She has about 30 words. We have PT weekly, OT and speech biweekly. She is 17lbs and 32 inches long. We see a geneticist bc they say she should have caught up in size by now. We had labs drawn yesterday for Russell-Silver syndrome which is a type of dwarfism. I'm torn bc she does share similar features with those kids but she also reminds me of premies too.
I popped in here awhile back bc I was having nightmares about the nicu situation. I would hear the monitors and it made me anxious. Some of you ladies recommended talking to someone. I never made it to that point because Michaela has kept me so busy but things are better now. Her appointments are slowing down. Dh and I are even talking about ttc in the next couple of months. It still makes me nervous. I just feel like deep down this next time will be different.
I hope all is well with you ladies. Thanks for letting me drop in.
PS- I know I need a new siggy. I can't believe she is going to be 2 in Nov.
So nice to hear from you and Michaela! Honestly, DS1 was my preemie and he's still small for an 8 year old. He's perfectly normal (minus the ADHD and his CP) but he's just small for his age. DS1 wasn't much more than what Michaela is now at the same age. KUP!
