well, first of all thanks for the compliments.
i so suck at answering this question though. at least half the time when i'm done with a page, i stare at it wondering if it looks exactly like you described -- like the elements just threw up on my page. LOL. so i really think we're our own worst critics...
anyway, when i start a page i'll sometimes start it like i would a template... it helps me plan out my paper pieces and photo placement. once i have that figured out, i start clipping my papers and get my photos how i want them. after that, it's all trial and error.
i just start pulling elements from the kit and throwing them all on the page, making them invisible until i figure out what to do with them. i move things around a billion times, resize them all different ways, put them behind things and leave just a bit sticking out, etc. that's my basic process.

um... nope. i'm on 2 template teams (sya and bree) but they only require 3 layouts/month each. bella gypsy makes them too, but we're not required to use them... i do when i'm in a pinch though. other than that, i really only use them for challenges (maybe twice a month?).
