I saw a tutorial when I first started digiscrapping about lining up alphas so they are all straight. Does anyone know how to do this on PSE?

I use the "grid" and line them up with the lines on the grid.

When I saw your post I read it like this....

Lining up alphas.....are a GIANT PAIN IN THE BUTT.

LOL....tells you how I feel about Alpha's! They always look beautiful on pages, but I hate them with a passion.

I place a guide line on the page, then place the letters leaving them in whatever size they are made in. Once I get them the way I want them I add shadows, then merge just the letters together. Then I can enlarge or shrink the entire word to the size I need. Hope that helps.

well in photoshop you just highlight the layers you want aligned (ctrl+click) each one and then go to layer>align. you tell it what edges you want aligned (top, bottom, etc) and then it's done. i thought PSE had this too. i can check in a bit but i'm on the desktop right now and my old copy of PSE is on the laptop.

I just looked on my PSE and it doesn't have it.

I couldn't find anything like that either. I must have been watching the tutorial in PS and adapting it to PSE. At least I know I am not crazy and totally imagining things!

me either

k, so it's in a different spot but i can do it in PSE 5 so i'm sure the newer versions have it too. when i have the move tool selected, there are a few options along the top -- arrange, align and distribute. when you click align, you'll see the options i mentioned before. just make sure you've highlighted all the alpha layers first (or whatever it is you're lining up).
