Do you tell your dh/so about every single purchase you make?

No. We both have our own fun money to spend however we want. I usually end up mentioning whatever I buy though in conversation.

I don't because my hobby is way cheaper than his. He spends a few dollars everyday on the convience store, lol, I spend it on supplies.

naw cuz the money for kits comes from selling my templates so it's not like it's effecting him. I'm not going crazy buying kits. If I ever buy a sale, I make sure he's ok with the amount I"m spending, but only if it's large.

OK, I can't tell if this is just about kits, or everything!

With kits, no. Usually I have a paypal balance, and if I don't, he sees it when it comes out of the bank account. It's never a big deal, because I don't tend to spend much at once.

With everything, I will tell him ahead of time or after the fact when money is tight, but the rest of the time I won't unless it is big. He sees everything come out of checking anyway - if he wants to know, he will ask. A lot of it comes up in conversation anyway.

well it depends on what I bought:

Scrap stuff: No
Stuff for the kids (clothes/shoes)/house: yes because usually I'm like ......."look at what I got [kid's name] today....." or ..."look at the deal I scored today...."
Grocery/food wise: No
Big ticket item(stuff for computer/camera/general electronic stuff): Yes because we always discuss big purchases BEFORE we buy them

pretty much, yes. we share a bank account so even if we don't discuss it outright, he knows. i will mention a purchase beforehand if it's a larger purchase, but i don't usually "ask for permission" for littler things.

That is exactly how we do it. He spends some for his hobby too, so we each have a "hobby budget" and if we go over that or want to then we talk about it. Most of the time it's not necessary.
