On April 29 at 2:30 a.m. baby Ariea Camille made her appearance! She weighed 8 lbs. 14 oz. and was 20 1/2 in. long. She also has beautiful blond hair!

Mommies and baby are all doing well. I am sure Sarah will tell you more when she gets home. She had a c-section, so is in for a little longer. Be patient!

here is how thimgs went for me! we are doing well, still trying to adjust. i will add more pics later if i get some time.

I was scheduled to be induced on the 27th but too many other women decided they were going to have there babies then so we had to I waited unitl the 28th to go in. It turned out I was going into labor on my own but to help it along, my dr. put in a little pill to help soften my cervix. I labored for 6 hrs. and only was at 3 cm, so we opted for an epidural. With in an hour I was at 6cm. I kept going until about 9 cm when the nurse and dr noticed the baby wasn't doing so well and her heartrate was getting high. I felt the urge to push and even pushed once or twice. However, the dr check the baby and realized that she had a long way to go because of the shape of my pelvis and the position of my uterus. So he said if I wanted we could try but it was going to be hard and long and not safe for the baby. In his opinion, we need the baby out NOW. So we agreed on a emergency C-section. It was a very hard and emotional decision but we wanted a healthy baby in the end and if a C section was going to give us that, then we were all in. Unfortunately, the epidural wasn't working on completely blocking all the pain in my lower half because when they started to cut me, I could still feel it. So they tried some more meds and tried cutting again, and again I could feel it. So ultimately, I was knocked out completely. This was the only thing I regret, not being able to see my baby right after she was born. I was later told that the umbilical cord was wrapped tightly around her neck which would have been difficult for her to come out vaginally. At 230am my little Ariea Camille was brought into the world. She was having some breathing difficultys so they sent her to the NICU while I was "put back together". At 330am I came out of recovery and was semi lucid and at 4am they brought Ariea into our room with us. However, her blood sugar was only 32, and it should have been atleast 45. So they had to take her back to the NICU for the next 12 hrs. to monitor her. She was better after that, we just had to have it checked every 6 hrs. to make sure it was stablized. She is doing great now and we are so happy and proud to be mommies. She is the greatest gift.
