After 2 m/c, we found out we were pregnant just two weeks ago. I've done bloodwork the past 2 weeks, and it has been normal for that stage of pregnancy. Monday is my scheduled sono, but I'm wondering if I'll even see a heartbeat this early. Any thoughts?

I'm sooooo nervous, as the last two times, the sonos have indicated m/c. But, I'm trying to stay hopeful!!

I don't think they can see the h/b this early on a sonogram. When I was 6w 4d with my first, all they saw was a dark sac where the baby started growing. They can check your levels with the bloodwork though for the next 3 or 4 weeks to make sure they are going up until they can see the heartbeat. Good luck with everything and Congratulations!!!

I think it depends on what sort of ultrasound they do. With my son, they did a vaginal ultrasound before 6 weeks, and we saw the heartbeat clear as day. With my current pregnancy, my doctor wouldn't do an u/s until 8 weeks, and then it was a regular u/s, which wasn't as clear as a vaginal, but we still saw the heartbeat.

I'd say if they do a regular u/s you probably won't see a heartbeat (or much of anything) this early!

Good luck!

V. =)

I was 6w 5d when I had my first Ultrasound (I had severe pain, turns out it was just a cyst) I saw the heartbeating it too was a vaginal u/s
