Appt update from today

Well...I'm still up only 7 lbs from beginning of pregnancy...but I'm NOT complaining! lol BP was fine.

My uterus is measuring 29 1/2 weeks. But unless baby is measuring 10 days or more ahead at my u/s on Thursday, they won't change my due date.

I set my scheduled c-section for July 10th. HOWEVER...doctor doesn't think I'll go that long. She said she had to set a date for 39 weeks (that's their office's policy whether she likes it or not), and she was going to be out 2 days during that week, and since she already had a c-section scheduled for that day, she picked that one.

But...she said to keep my bags packed and ready beforehand. I told her that I'm hoping to hold out until at least 38 weeks and she kind of hem hawed around saying that I should just be prepared ahead of that.

She said that she won't let me go into hard labor. That as soon as I'm in early labor she will take baby. So there wasn't even a time set for the 10th.

My folks are coming to stay with Ben and Sarah, so I'm asking them to come the last week of June. I'm praying that this little one stays put a little longer than Ben did. He was born at 35 weeks 6 days. He was fine, but was so tiny. Sarah was a really healthy size (8 lbs 14 oz and 22 inches long) at 38 weeks. So that's my goal.

It sounds like it went really well. I don't know what I'd do if the doctor seemed that sure that I wouldn't even make it to 39 weeks. Did she say why she thinks that? Is it the way you're measuring?

I've had preterm labor and emergency c-sections with both Sarah and Ben. Sarah was a 38 weeker, but was trying to come for at least a few weeks before that and Ben was born at 35 weeks 6 days. He was a double vessel cord and so small compared to Sarah (who was almost 9 lbs and 22 inches long). I'm thinking Caitie will be more like Sarah, 38 weeks is my goal.
