I started with my NST. I had some bh contrax..but nothing out of the ordinary for me at this point in pg. But I guess the nurse was bit nervous about them (although I didn't know it) as she ordered a swab test to see if there was a possibility of me going into labor within the next 10 days!
So then I go into the room to see my doctor and she asks me if I had some cramping or anything ... I said no ... she says well you had a pretty regular pattern going on with the NST's. I told her it could be that my uterus just doesn't like the belts and that when her NP checked me last week my cervix was closed and thick. She said she didn't want to check it again today because she didn't want aggravate anything or get anything going down there....but she did the swab test just in case.
So then she goes on to say something about having the baby on June 16th...kiddingly...at least I hope, kiddingly. And I say...well I hope not!
She checked my fundal height...but I forgot to ask her and she forgot to tell me what I was measuring. Which kind of stinks because I have an MFM meeting tomorrow and if you remember the nurse at the last MFM appt. measured me 5 weeks ahead of what my doctor measured me as. So it would've been nice to have a comparison..but oh well.
By the end of the appt., I asked her about my scheduled c-section for July 10th, if we still had that date set and she replied, "I'm not able to schedule you earlier than that." Then she went on about my son and how he was born at 35 weeks 6 days...and that she really thinks this will be a June baby.
So I called my mom and let her know what's going on. I'm hoping that swab test will confirm that NOTHING's going on yet with cervix...but I needed to put her on standby.
Down to weekly appts. now. Not sure what will happen with the MFM if I will go weekly with them or if tomorrow will be my last one. But I'll update tomorrow from that appt.
UPDATE from Thursday:
Well...first off, got my swab test results and it was negative!
Indicates that it is unlikely that I will go into labor within the next 10 days (at least my cervix doesn't have that chemical that starts to ripen things up
). yay!
I had my Maternal Fetal Medicine u/s and appt. today. The nurse measured my fundal height at 36 weeks (and I made sure she didn't start as low as last time either). Got greeted by the doctor with, "Hello! You're BIG!" Ummm...really? rofl Last time he said with utter shock, "38???" When I told him how old I was. ha! So now I'm old and huge! rofl
Caitie looks great! Healthy and happy. She is breech and had her back toward us. lol Little stinker....or should I say big stinker. She's bigger than Sarah was at this point in my pg. She weighs almost 5 lbs at 4 lbs 13 oz. Sarah weighed 4 lbs. 1 oz. and ended up being almost 9 lbs. at 38 weeks!
They're a bit concerned about my fluid levels being even higher than my last u/s. Not super high...but because of her size, having the extra fluid and the fact she's breech, he's more concerned that my water will break than that my cervix will dilate early.
But that's why he said I've been so miserable and my belly is so distended.
I told him what Dr. Harris had said yesterday about Caitie more than likely being a June baby (possibly even by June 16th) and he asked more about my little buddy (who happened to go with us today) and I told him about the Terbutaline experience
. He said, "Well at this point, if you go into labor at or after 34 weeks, we will not be stopping labor!"
They scheduled an appt for me for 4 weeks from today, but told me that they'd know if I had her and I wouldn't have to call to cancel it. So...once again, called my mom and let her know.
