After she's born I'll go right back to my infertile, pre-menopausal self. What a lousy start to the day.

Why would you being going back to infertility? Is there a reason for it other than PCOS?
I'm 38 (will be 39 in August). I had 13 years of infertility (prior to getting on Metformin). I actually got so fertile on Metformin that I had no problems getting pregnant (even when we were preventing). I have other medical issues that caused 3 of my m/c's between my daughter Sarah and Ben, but Caitie was conceived while using protection. I had my tubes tied with her c-section.
We will be married 19 years this August.
Said all that to say....never say never. Don't give up hope. Feel free to pm me.

Our future TTC efforts will be very limited. With my estrogen so low I may as well be on depo and TTC. Our insurance won't cover anything relating to infertility so we won't be able to do anything past a couple attempts of low dosage Clomid. If that doesn't work then that'll be that. At this rate I'll be in full blown menopause before I'm 30 so it's just really depressing. Of course being hormonal doesn't help.

Clomid is an estrogen inhibitor. Are you on Metformin? It's not a "fertility" drug and it's on the $4.00 list at Walmart. Perhaps not being on Clomid may improve your cycles after this pg. My levels were so low when I did the clomid with ds (both estrogen & then after ovulation, progesterone, as they're relative to each other's levels) that my RE had me do a trigger to help with egg quality (my estrogen levels were under 50...I want to say in the 30's, but I can't remember). I ended up having to take progesterone shots until week 12 as my progesterone levels were only 6!! We were truly shocked that I had even conceived.
This time around, I have no idea what my estrogen was, as I wasn't ttc and wasn't using clomid or going to an RE. As soon as I found out I was pg (a few days before AF was due), I got on progesterone. My levels were "slightly" higher, at 9. But still did the shots until 12 weeks.

I don't have IR so Met isn't even up for consideration. Clomid gave my follies that kick they needed to actually grow. Without it they were staying underdeveloped.

Who says met isn't an option? I'm not IR and I was put on it. That's how we managed to get pregnant at all. You don't HAVE to be IR to get use out of met.

They won't put me on it since I'm not IR. I wanted to try it before going straight to Clomid, but my doctor wouldn't even discuss it.

Weird. I would find a different doc. Most of them will try met before anything else, regardless of IR, because it HAS proven to be so successful.

Ugh, that stinks. I'm only slightly IR and my sister w/PCOS isn't IR at all. Her first Endo wouldn't put her on it either...but a 2nd said that he would. Her cycles are all straightened out now and she's lost quite a bit of weight.

I switched practices not too long ago because my old OB is due August 2nd (go figure), so maybe I'll have better luck with this one. They even have an infertility specialist at the practice and I think our insurance covers the practice as a whole so while it wouldn't be an RE it'd be the next best thing.
