Welcome! I am right behind you at 16 weeks with PCOS too. Are you on any meds for your PCOS? I was on Metformin and progesterone for the first trimester.

of course you can join in!! I'm Becky - just over 24 weeks along now. Like Liz I was on Metformin & Progesterone for the 1st trimester as well as estrogen. I'm off all of them now and have had no problems. Good luck with your pg & I look forward to getting to know you.

We're all so different and our docs have treated us all differently, so just because you were not on these meds is not necessarily a problem. In my case, my doc had prescribed metformin before I was pg as a way to manage the PCOS. I am insulin resistant, and the met helped with that and got me having regular cycles. I was on it since January and got my BFP in August. I also was low on progesterone when I would O (discovered before I got pg as well), so with the IUIs we used progesterone supplements after the IUIs and continued until the negative blood test or when I did get pg continued until the placenta started taking over when I got pg. The estrogen was to thicken my lining. With the 2nd IUI cycle, the monitoring on cd10 revealed my uterus lining was on the thin side so the doc prescribed estrogen for me to take. I weaned off all 3 once the placenta was in place.

I haven't posted in this forum since I was PG with DD!

I wasn't on progesterone with either pregnancy, infact I don't think my progesterone levels were even checked?

Don't worry about the progesterone, every case of PCOS is so different! some women with PCOS have regular periods, some don't get one at all, some can concieve easily with fertility meds others can't, some have insulin resistance some don't, some are on metformin, others aren't.

I have PCOS (obviously or I wouldn't be here ) I was diagnoised back in 2004. I didn't have any of the key indicators except for cysts in my ovaries, hormones all out of whack and lack of periods (i got 3-4 a year if that).

Summer was a Clomid baby, and I am very fortunate that that's all it took to get PG with her. This pregnancy was a "surprise" I honesly never thought in a million years that I would get pregnant on my own, I was told my chances were so so slim.

Thats for sure Tam...
PCOS isn't always an automatic infertility sentence. People need to educate them selves on all the facts before they start accusing people of lying... Just saying.

Thanks for the welcoming ladies
