It is true that women with PCOS can miscarry a lot. That depends on a lot of things though. Fertility medications, specific hormone problems, etc. If you ask your doctor to run b/w to check your progesterone levels I think that in itself would give you a lot of comfort. As long as those levels are fine everything should be okay. Anything beyond that would probably be chromosomal and nothing that could be helped with or without PCOS.

On the milk front a lot of us, as far as I know, have the opposite problem of little/no supply. We end up with an over supply which can make things tricky in the beginning. It's completely possible to breastfeed successfully with PCOS. It could actually keep your hormones in check!

Since you weren't using any medications you should have a pretty simple, normal pregnancy. The medications are usually where you run into extra testing and things. Your doctor may want to do things like the glucola tolerance test (GTT) early if weight is a concern or monitor your blood pressure more closely if you have a history. That sort of thing. That's typical though and not related to PCOS. PCOS tends to cause problems with getting pregnant, but not so much with staying pregnant.

I hope this helps!

I was one who couldn't conceive without meds. However, my sister, who also has PCOS, was able to conceive without having to take any medications. And she has never m/c'd.

Congratulations on your pregnancy!

HI thank you so much for all your answers and thank you for the congrats! I have been TTC for so long! I really loved all the good things listed, I do have GREAT blood pressure and before I got preggo I was working out 2 times a day for 4hrs a day. I was very obbssed I pulled my muscle and I didnt go often and I started to gain alittle weight I started cramping due to a UTI and was in a small car accident and that was the way I found out I was with child. Crazy huh? HAH! I try.. The only issue Im having now is gas bubbles in my tummy! I went to the OBGYN I get to hear the heart beat and see the baby Dec 6th!!! When I went this last time the did a huge blood work up and a pap smear and he did a slight test up in there and moved my belly around for feeling the little bean.. He told me I was about 8 to 9 weeks!!! Im excited but also scared I will keep it updated, my belly pics and my sonogram photos will be in the June room out there since that is when either Chloe Nicole or Mason Carter will be born

Congrats! I have PCOS and had a successful and pretty uneventful pregnancy. I did develop the GD and my doc tested me several times throughout the pregnancy and I developed it towards the end. (last 2 months) I also was able to and am still breastfeeding - 6 months now.
