OK so I am new to this site and having some issues. I have had PCOS for many years and it took the help of Clomid and glucophage to finally get pregnant. I went to the doctor last week at 5 weeks with brown spotting and pain in lower pelvis area. The doctor did a u/s and didnt find a heart beat but said it was probably too early. He said the brown spotting was Ok and the pain was nothing to worry about. Well then Sat. and Sunday I had heavier brown bleeding and what looked like some clotting or tissue on the toliet paper when wipeing. Has anyone else experienced this problem or have any suggestions for me?

FIRST OFF, Welcome and Congrats, Mommy to be!

I had a lot of that stuff with DD. I bleed on and off for a while. It would go for light to heavy from brown to dark red and then finally it just stop'd and there was a little pain with it.

I sure hope that everything is ok. PLEASE KEEP US UPDATED!!!!! Stick baby STICK!!!

Thanks ladies! I went to the doctor yesterday and did a U/S. He found a heartbeat and thinks I am 6 weeks 2 days. He doesnt know what is causing the bleeding and told me to take it easy. I have taken off of work for the rest of the week and trying to stay off my feet. They did blood work and said all my numbers look great. I guess this will be a waiting game! Thanks for the replies.

I was diagnosed with pcos in June of 2006, put on glucophage, and got pregnant in Sept. 2006, (I think, you know how cycles can be). But anyways, I had LOTS of spotting in the entire first trimester. I went in too early for anything to be detected on u/s as well, which is scary. But I think the first round of spotting lasted about 12 days straight. And I had some heavy red spotting once or twice. Everything ended up ok...so it can be normal I think. Also, if the spotting goes away, then comes back, you may want to get doc. to check for yeast infection. That happened with me at 10 and again at 16 weeks. Good luck to you, but I think everything sounds great so far Keep us posted

Congrats, first of all.
Second, I did the same thing at about the same time with my first. She is a healthy three year old. I wonder if spotting is more common with PCOS and pregnancy. None of my friends had it and none of them have PCOS. Could be a hormonal or implantation issue.
