Hi all,

I've had PCOS since I was 14. My husband and I tried for over a year to get pregnant and finally got our first BFP in May. Unfortunately, I miscarried at 6 weeks and I've been just devastated since.

My question to all of you is this: How many of you with PCOS pregnancies had a prior miscarriage?

I'm feeling really hopeless right now and it just seems like it's never going to happen for me. I feel like I'm doomed because of PCOS.

I'd really like to hear from those of you with PCOS who are enjoying a healthy pregnancy, AND how did you get here? Diet? Meds? Luck?

Please reply, any advice would be sooooo appreciated.

-Hilary

I have had 2 pregnancies and 2 babies come September. I used nothing with DS and clomid, diet and metformin with DD.... never give up just get as healthy as you can, it makes a huge difference in your body and to the doctors willingness to take you seriously and help.

I am so sorry for your loss.

I may have had miscarriages in the past but they were never confirmed. Just late and very severe periods, with a great deal of pain.

Honestly I didn't do anything for either pregnancy. I had to have my ovaries drained of fluid and got pregnant with my first son, Brandon back in 2000. I was also working out daily at the gym and had lost 25 lbs.

This baby is a huge surprise and the only thing I can think of is I started taking prenatals vitamins the month before because I felt off, which could have been from my thyroid and a diet that was less than 1200 calories. Probably way less, I am never hungry.

Hope you find your answers soon!

Hi there,
first of all i'm really sorry for your loss. I had 3 miscarriages before conceiving this time and I know the feeling of doom.
It always seems to be that every one around you is pregnant too!

I was trying to conceive for a year before falling on this time but I was over weight so wasn't even ovulating. I hadn't had a period since february. I started swimming almost every night just to get myself in shape for the fertility treatment I was about to start and then for some reason i decided to get myself a test, just to see, and low and behold I was pregnant. I really think it was the exercise that did it for me. Because I was more relaxed with the swimming I wasn't constantly thinking of getting pregnant any more either.

It's the hardest thing but try and relax maybe take up a hobby or sport that you love. I just think that as soon as I started swimming, I was losing weight and not on a constant mission to get pregnant, and it happened straight away!

Good luck and keep us updated.
