For those of you who were on metformin, when did you stop taking it? My RE said I could stop this week (I'll be 10 weeks), but it makes me nervous. I think I might continue through the first trimester.

Also, when you stopped, did you taper down? My RE said I could just stop all at once, but that sounds weird to me.

First congrats on the pregnancy! Second... I felt the same way, however we did come to an agreement for me to tapper off. I was taking 1250mg daily, than I did 1 850mg for a week and then 1/2 850mg for a week and dropped. If you do it that way you will be close to 12 weeks by the time you are done. H&H 9 months to you!

my re told me to stop at 9 weeks so i guess it's ok depending on you. some people stop at 12-15 weeks.goodluck

I fought a bit with my doctor to stay on it for twelve weeks.

My dr keeps me on it my whole pregnancy.....she did with my DD and she is this pregnancy too.

My re told me to stay on it until my ob told me otherwise. When I saw my ob he said it was up to me whether or not to stay on it. I did for the first 7 weeks but then it started making me sicker than I already was so I stopped taking it. Good luck!
