Our furbabie Mr. Mouse has had 2 previous back surgeries to repair a herinated and a ruptured discs. On Wednesday, he was not able to stand on one of his hind legs. We had to take him to the emergency vet at 3 am and then to our regular vet when they opened up. No one told us any definate information. It was heartbreaking to see him in pain. SO he spent about 2 day in the vets office with 24 hr supervison and now he is home. Which we are extremely greatful for. They told us they THINK he has done something to ANOTHER disc in his back but are unsure at this point. We don't want to put him thru another surgery, not only cuz they have to open up his back, then he has recovery, and he also has a heart murmur so they are very cautious with him anyways. With a baby on the way, we conisidered the unthinkingable for us, but he is recovering and improving a little everyday. He is confined for 4 weeks in a kennel, which is new to him also.

I was just wanting some thoughts and prayer for us and our little mr. mouse as he recovers. THanks.
This is a pic of mr. mouse last winter. Its not a good one of him, but its cute!

I'll keep him in my thoughts and prayers! I understand how hard it is to see a pet in pain and not be able to figure out exactly how to fix it.

Thanks ladies! Mr. Mouse is doing great and is recovering very nicely. We go to the vet on monday for a checkup to make sure he is progressing correctly. However, he HATES being confined all day and all night! Plus, we have three other dogs his same age who play and run and he can't. Its kinda sad to watch but I can't really explain to him that it is for his own good. Oh well, we are doing good and we are expecting a complete recovery. Thanks again ladies, I think all the thoughts and prayers really helped!

Unfortunately on Friday the 9th he took a turn for the worse so we took him back to the vet and they had to put him back on steriods. He seemed to respond well until Saturday night when I picked him up to take him outside to do is business, he yelped when I picked him up. I believe it may have been the straw that broke his back again. He just got worse for there and was in severe pain. We gave him pain meds all night and all day Sunday until we could get in to see our vet Monday. They told us we our only option was surgery. As I said before that was just not an options for us. He was a fighter and it was apparent he had given up. We knew what we had to do. We know that he is in a better place now and is pain free. It helps to think that but it still hurts cuz I miss him so very much. I know that only time will heal the empty space in our hearts. I just wanted to thank you all for your support and prayers for our Mouse.

I know it's hard to say good bye, but at least you know he isn't suffering anymore. My thoughts are with you as you heal.
