Ok, this is a personal question, but I was wondering if it is normal for the areolas on the breasts to dry out. I have always had dry winter skin, but this year it seems very bad. Tonight I noticed that the skin around my areolas is dry and flaky - my boobs have never dried out before - usually I only get dry skin on my legs. How should I treat it? Leave it alone, or use lotion?

I think it is normal. Your body is going through lots of changes right now. Number one, I would say don't use soap on your breasts & nipples. Your nipples have glands that keep them clean & don't require soap. That might help. Otherwise, if you feel like you need lotion I would go with something like cetaphil. Hope it gets better soon!

I don't know the answer, but sometimes mine feel dry and itchy so I have used some baby lotion (I had sample in my cabinet) and it helped. I hope it gets better soon!

Thanks for the help girls. I noticed that by boobs suddenly blossomed and then the dry skin dissapeared, so maybe it was preparing to grow I didn't know about the soap thing, that was interesting! Thanks again!
