I had a growth check with the perinatologist today. The doctor came in with some devistating news - Baby B isn't fairing very well. She is not getting enough blood through the umbilical cord - the Dr. said she attached too far from the blood supply. Her fluid is low and her size is two weeks behind her sister with a 36% gap in their growth. Worst case sinerio is we would have to decide at 27 weeks to take both babies with the hopes that baby b will survive and baby a will be ok too or say good bye to baby b and hope my body doesn't go into labor when she passes and baby a can continue to grow healthy. Right now he is seeing us every two weeks to monitor their growth and he is recomending steroid shots to my OB (I go there on Wed.). Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers
Oh sweetie i am so sorry....hopefully baby b will catch up, but if they are born early take heart that my twins were born at 29 weeks. They spent 8 and 9 weeks in the NICU but they are big boys noiw
Thank you girls! Breea, I forgot you had twins! How big were they when they were born? We are looking at the possiblilty that baby a will be about 2-3 lbs and baby b being just over 1 lb.
