Definitely could use prefolds!! I have some and I could try them. I also bought some microfiber towels and I have left over fleece so I was just going to see if I can whip up something that will fit nicely
I was lurking on the boards and thought I would chime in here! I had a bunch of these with my daughter who is now almost 4. I saved all of my covers and plan to use them again. I do think the gDiapers have a learning curve! For me, I did not cloth diaper ever so this was a nice transition for me. They did leak if they weren't on properly and I actually hated using them with prefolds, because the prefolds bunched up worse than the flushable liners. I am still deciding what I want to use with them this time around but I like reading everyone's ideas & input, because I do feel these diapers get a bad rap! Another plus was that I felt these were really easy to clean because I could just throw them in with my other laundry instead of doing a "diapers" only wash.
I have to say, now that we are in over a year with g's, I still love them like crazy. I have over 100... I have got a major addiction. They still work wonderfully for us!! There is definitely a "fit" learning curve. And they have changed/updated their products, so if you tried them with last baby and you weren't a fan, try a new one because they do fit a little better. We use all kinds of things in them: flushies, yellow edged GMD's (for mediums), gCloth and babyland bamboo inserts. I like them all.
