so how do you tell the difference between AF and if this is still from having a D&C. I was free from bloody discharge for a little over a week and it started brown but now has turned into a light flow red with really no clots sorry if TMI

How long since the dn/c? I have always gotten my Af after m/c within 3-4wks. If it stopped with the spotting for over a wk and now you have a flow, I would say its AF.

I'm sorry for the loss of your baby

For me, 24 days after the D&C, I had no spotting for 11 days, and then 4 days of brown spotting. I thought that that was my first AF, but then my real AF came only 19 days later. That was the only way I knew that the 4 day spotting wasn't actually AF.

How long has it been since the D&C for you? It sounds like it could be AF.

It could be your AF. My Dr. told me that my 1st AF after m/c can be very different then my normal periods. I also remember reading somewhere (I can't remember where though) that if you haven't bleed for a week or more and then start to bleed then it is probably AF.

It sounds like it could be AF. You could try calling your doctor's office and asking what they think...
