We found out last thur that our baby didnt have a heartbeat. So its been a week and one day. I am just wondering how long it normally takes to m/c once the baby's heartbeat has stopped? The waiting and waiting is really hard but I dont want a d&c. Does anyone know how long it takes? This is so hard and I think the waiting makes it even harder.

I am so sorry for your loss Brandi. I had a D&C but before I made that decision my midwife said it would take 1-4 weeks. I am sure someone will be by to help you out more. (Hugs) - I am so sorry

I'm sorry for your loss My first loss turned out to be a molar pregnancy so I had to have a d&c and with my second loss we found out the baby had no heartbeat, 2 days later I started spotting and a week after finding no heartbeat I passed the baby naturally in the hospital. I don't know what the average is but I hope you don't have to wait too long... I know I hated waiting, I just wanted it to be quick. I hope you don't have to have a d&c

I'm very sorry for your loss, lots of thoughts and prayers to you. I don't have any answers for you, our loss was different as it was ovarian.

I'm not sure there is any "set time" for how long it should take. I hope that it happens soon for your emotional sake.

I'm sorry for your loss. My obstetrician said it could take one to six weeks to start to miscarry naturally. I opted for a d&c because emotionally I could not take the thought of wondering if I would start to miscarry at work, or when we were away on holidays with family (who didn't know I was pregnant) which were coming up, or just the fact that I still felt like I would consider myself pregnant until I miscarried and I wasn't up to waiting.

I hope it happens soon for you. The waiting would be so hard.
