I just lost mine June 14th. It was horrible. I was at a family Reunion and the day we were leaving I had an awful, excruciating pain just hit me. It hurt to stand, I couldn't sit or lay down. We went to the ER and they done blood test and said my HCG was 1,182. I was about 5 weeks pregnant. I told the doctor I was at high risk for a tubal since I just had a tb reversal in March. They did my ultrasound and found nothing at all. Yet I was still in so much pain on my left side. I was given a shot of morphine during Ultrasound because the pain was so bad and it had no effect on me. The doctor told me to follow up with my OBGYN in 48 hours. I cried in pain the 5hr drive all the way back to my home town. My husband took me to the ER in our home town. The doctor came in and said the baby is in your left tube, we have to do emergency surgery because your tube is rupturing and when that happens you will die. Then she said I know it sounds harsh but thats what will happen. I sat in a blank stare and thought OMG if I would have gone home like the first doctor told me to do I would have died. Then I was taken to the OR. The next day my husband told me that when they were wheeling me off to surgery my tube ruptured. That explained all the cutes and scrapes from the roof of my mouth going down the back of my throat and the ball in the back of my mouth smashed flat. I lost my left tube and I'm so angry at the first hospital I went to. I got a phone call from a billing company asking me if I had insurance. I asked them what hospital they were calling about. The lady sounded shocked when I told her I was at two hospitals within 5 hrs. I told the lady what happened. I was told to call a different number because the lady couldn't tell me which hospital. Ok I'm done venting, Its hard though. My husband had to break it to our two boys which are 5 and 7. The 7 year old was sad but the 5 year old keeps making comments about the baby. Like today I was getting a sandwich from the store and he said maybe the baby won't like that. It broke my heart. I try not to tear up at things like that but its so hard.

They sent you home??? Are you kidding me? It's like when my dad took my mom into the ER on a Tuesday for hemorrhaging, and they said she needed an emergency hysterectomy (this was 4 years ago) and needed her records from her OB, and her OB just said "oh, just keep your appointment on Friday." Some doctors, I swear, you wonder how they got through med school!

I'm sorry you lost your baby, and your tube. I'm sorry this is so hard on your little boy. I'm sorry you have to join us here, but I hope you feel welcome. If you'd like your angel added to our memorial list, please just add your info to the sticky.

Oh my goodness! I'm so glad you decided to go to the ER in your home town. How are you doing? I think I would still be in shock and doubt the reality would have hit me yet.

I'm so sorry you had to go thru such an ordeal and then to lose your baby on top of it all.
What ever you need-we are here for you.

Oh I'm sorry that happened to your mom. Yeah they sent me home and the doctor said he couldn't prescribe me any pain meds because I was pregnant! I'm thinking about getting copy's of all the ultrasound pictures they took at the first hospital and take them to my OBGYN and have him look at them, see what he says and then get a lawyer. Am I over reacting or am I just so hurt I want to take it out on someone else?

No, you're not overreacting honey. That is a case of malpractice. There needs to be SOME sort of complaint laid at least. I think you should totally go for it.

I'm holding it together. I really haven't sat down and had a full grieving moment. I've pretty much had a tear here and a tear there. I'm bad about holding things in until I explode. So I guess it really hasn't hit me yet and when it does I know its going to hurt and be so dramatic.

Thank you so much. After telling my family and close friends how I felt they kinda had looks on their faces like I was over reacting.

Im so sorry for all this to happen to you. My sister had the same thing happen to her but it was over a 2wk period. She had horrible pain, and three u/s's at one hospital, telling her they could not find the baby. On her way to work, two weeks later, the tube ruptured and she started bleeding internally. She got herself to the office, and passed out cold at the front desk. She was taken by ambulance to the nearest hospital, and was told on the way to the OR that her tube had ruptured from an etopic pregnancy. She was 8wks, and the she lost her left tube. I soooo wanted her to get an attorney as well, but the pictures from the first hopital showed no indication that there was a tubal pregnancy as well. She did end up pg within a year from just her right tube. I wish the best for you, and welcome you as well. Please KUP and come vent as much as you want too......

That's horrible!!! I was blacking out and dry heaving when I left the first ER. I was given meds for nausea. I'm new to this place, I don't know what KUP means, . But if it means keep you updated I will definitely do that.

You got it right with the KUP, what an ordeal for you to have to go through, its alot to absorb all at once. Once it has sunk in completely, this board is awsome at "relating" to your loss. Please just know we are here for you.
