I just recieved a bill for my D&C. $2,500. What's worse, my OB gave me a letter when I went in for my first visit to confirm pregnancy that said that all prenatal care would come up to $2000. So that D&C costs me more money than carrying the child to term. Wow what an insult. Yeah insurance paid $4,000, but for something that I could have done myself with a coat hanger, that procedure was not worth $6,000.

I know exactly what you mean, I just got one for $900 and that was just blood work when the baby was healthy! I've not received anything for all of my HcG draws or the ultrasound. Half the reason I wanted to do everything naturally was because I'd heard the D&C ran $4-6K which terrified me since my insurance isn't great. It really does suck to be paying a bill for a baby you aren't carrying. I wish when things like this happened the hospital could just write them off.

ladies...

I hated looking at bills that reminded me of being pregnant Luckily, I only had the co-pays to take care of for everything - the actual total was amazing, but I was in the hospital for a week because they were trying to see if strict bedrest would help...

I totally agree that it really really sucks to have to pay for a baby you don't have. I havent received any bills and I am still not done getting bloodwork done because I have to keep going back until my numbers are down to 0. I have no clue how much this is going to cost. I did go naturally, but went in to see my midwife several times during the miscarriage.

Yeah I was hoping to go naturally, but it was getting to a month after the baby had died and the doctors were worried about my health I remember getting bills for my blood work and being pissed. Because all I could think was who cares if my blood work was good I don't have my baby! I really wish they could have just written it off.

I'll be TTC again soon, so hopefully things go better this time.

I've always been grateful that, since I was on medicaid, I didn't have any bills.

I just got my bill today, and I was honestly surprised how low it was, but I did prepay almost $900 for my OB care that they put towards the doc bill. I'm wondering if the hospital will be sending me their own bill. I know that one will probably be ugly.

I know what you mean, though. With my first loss, I ended up having a D&C because it wouldn't miscarry naturally. I paid $5,000.00 for it and they didn't even get everything out which caused me excruciating pain. They offered me another D&C, and I said "**** that! I just paid you $5,000.00, and you didn't even get the job done right and now you want more!?!?!" Ridiculous!
