I was due at the end of May (about 5 1/2 to 6 weeks pregnant) and started cramping and passing clots last night. This is my first miscarriage, so I just hope everything passes naturally. I am going to call the OB's office after I get my two older kids to school. I'm really sad, but also glad that if it was going to happen, that it happened NOW and not later on. We haven't told the older two boys yet, which is a big relief because they wouldn't understand that the baby was just "gone." They're five and six, so I don't want to have to explain a m/c to them.

What does the OB do if you are miscarrying? Just monitor? I hope I don't have to have a D&C.

I'm so sorry!
My OB had me come in after I miscarried to check that everything had passed naturally, and nothing was left in my uterus. I hope you don't need a d&c either.

I just got back. They did a vaginal ultrasound and it showed that everything had passed - my uterine lining was pretty thin so I should stop bleeding in a couple of days. Fortunately I don't have to have a D&C and everything looks "healthy," so we can try again on another cycle.

I'm sad, but if it had to happen, I'm glad it happened early and not later on in the pregnancy. But still wish I had a healthy baby in there!
