How much blood is "normal" during a miscarriage? Is it normal to experience constant blood flow after the passing of a large clot? DH is working and the only people I have around right now are my kids and I don't really want to bleed out, but I don't want to make a big deal out of nothing. I have been experiencing a constant flow (often gushes) of blood for only 1/2 hour or so. How long should this last before I seek medical attention? I remember my midwife giving me instructions on when to go to the ER but I was pretty upset so I didn't listen

For me, I experienced heavy bleeding for about 6 hours. I had several gushes during that time period. My Dr said that soaking a super heavy flow pad every hour means too much blood and go in. I hope you are feeling better and the bleeding has calmed down.

Thanks! I did end up going in because I soaked 4 overnight pads in less than an hour :/ I had to get a d&c so I guess I needed to be there!
