At a routine doctors appointment yesterday no heartbeat was detected and an ultrasound confirmed the worst. Found out I miscarried just one day shy of 16 weeks. Baby had passed away about a week prior with no symptoms. I was given medication to induce today, but it is taking longer than expected. Pretty scared that I have to deliver, don't really know how that will make me feel It was my first pregnancy and I am in complete shock that it is happening so late in the game. I just want this to be over and for some reason my body is dragging it out as long as possible.
I am taking a week off work, I know it is different for everyone, but it would be helpful to know if people in similar situations needed more time off (either physically or emotionally). I would like to prepare as much as possible.
I'm so so sorry. Everyone takes different things to heal. For some, work would be a must so as to not dwell on the pain. I lost someone very close to me and going to work was easier than being alone with my thoughts. In this situation I think a week sounds ok. Just remember to cry and talk of your pain. Don't bottle it up. And if you need longer, take it. Just take care of yourself right now. Hugs and prayers.
