Until now Alex has either slept with us in bed or in his pack and play in our room. On Friday we put him to sleep in his crib in his bedroom. I did not sleep at all, I miss having him in the bedroom with us, but I know that he has to learn to sleep alone in his room...it's just so hard.... his growing up...

Patty....How did Alex do with the change....Lots of Hugs for you...

We just started putting Cecil in his own bedroom last night....It was quite the struggle. Poor little guy was so sleepy, but woke-up about after 15 minutes each time we would lay him in his crib. He was up and down from about 8PM until 1:30AM when we said enough...and let him sleep with us again. We are going to try again tonight....We'll see how it goes. But for us...It's time he starts sleeping in his own room. I need better quality sleep at night, and I just don't sleep well with him in our bed. I'm sooo afraid of smashing him. But I miss him terribly too when he is not next to me

He did so good the first 2 nights, I was very impress. Last night we put him in his crib and about 10min he was screaming, I think he wasn't tired, so we ended up bringing him to sleep with us, I stayed up until he felt asleep and them put him in his pack and play.
Sam, because we did not know how he would do, we decided to try on the weekend, just in case he did the same thing that Cecil did, which he sort of did last night either way.

^^ I was going to start on Friday night, but we had a garage sale, and I was sorting through Cecil's clothes and had put some stuff in Cecil's crib.... I didn't get it out by the time it was his bedtime, so Friday was out, then on Saturday, we all fell asleep downstairs on the couch LOL...soooo Saturday was out too. I really think I was just procrastinating!

I hope tonight goes better for you guys...Let me know if you discover any tricks to help Alex fall asleep better in his crib. If something works for Cecil I'll KUP.

Patty,

I'm sorry you are having a hard time with it. I ended up putting Makenna in her own bed pretty quickly. I think the reason I did it so quickly was because our room is the COLDEST in the house (by far) and I didn't feel like I could keep her warm enough in our room (without turning off the AC completely and that doesn't work too well in Florida in the summer). She never had any problem with it -- of course I didn't like it at first, though. I didn't sleep very well at all either, I was constantly waking up to check on her. I had her baby monitor right in her crib with her (since she couldn't scoot or crawl, I felt safe with that at the time) and I could hear her breathing through the monitor a lot of the time, so I got more and more comfortable with her in there alone.

Hang in there, mama. It will get easier.

Sam, one of the things that I do is that I nurse him until he falls asleep and then dh takes him to his crib. Are you still BF?
