DH is a restaurant manager at TGI Fridays. Last Monday at 7am two guys came to the door claiming to be with the gas company. When he asked for ID they pulled 2 guns on him.
They drug him to the office and with the gun to his head told him he had 10 seconds to open the safe or they would shoot him. After they got the cash from the safe they zip tied his hand and legs and made him lay on the floor face down.
Then they shot the gun in the air, at that point he truly thought he was dead.
I feel so bad for him. They stole his truck but just drove it to the apartment complex 1/2 mile away, and just left his keys in the truck.
The only good thing about all of this is that he has had the week off because of it. He has to go back to work tomorrow and is totally dreading it.
His restaurant is in a crappy neighborhood, this is the 2nd time it was robbed in the last 4 months. Totally ridiculous that they would not close the store at this point. The restaurants on either side of his have closed in the last year (Don Pablos and Chilis) because of the crappy neighborhood
OMGosh! How scary!! I can't even imagine going back to work after that. That is awful! Did they catch the robbers? I'm so sorry your dh had to go through that. Are they changing any procedures to keep something like that from happening again?
They only took cash and were wearing gloves so the likelyhood of them being caught is pretty slim to none.
Changing procedures costs money so nothing significant will happen. Of course $$ trumps safety of their employees.
I am sooo sorry that happened. UGH... I don't even know what to say. I hope he is okay and can find a job in a better neighborhood ASAP. Yikes.
