Not just the random floating smiles that happen when they have gas, or they're sleeping (what are they dreaming about anyway?!?!?! I just can't remember when babies are supposed to interactively smile. when did your babies smile at you?
layla smiled for real the first time at 5 weeks exactly and eva smiled for the first time at 3weeks6days.. i thought it wasnt on purpose the first time she did it but was able to get her to smile again later on that day..
~Em, Married to Matt since 7/3/04. Mommy to Layla 3/29/06, Eva 10/18/08, Zeke 2/4/11 and Jonah 7/28/13
Each baby is different but if your baby has their eyes open and you are talking to them or acting goofy and you get a smile it's real. Norah has different expressions for Gas but she smiles a lot while she's awake, and mommy or big brother Jon is talking to her. The boys were a little behind on smiling Nick didn't smile until 2 months, Jon was 6 wks.
Thanks...I just know that my other boys seemed to smile earlier than Mr. Max is doing... and, I don't want to worry, I just don't know what's typical. I hope to see him grinning on purpose soon. I love gummy grins of newborns! He'll be 5 weeks on Tuesday!
