Well, I have had 4 babies and they have all been different. Max is still not smiling. I'm a little worried. He's 7 weeks old today. I know it's still early, but, my other babies were smiling by now. And, his disposition is so different than my other boys (and they were all different from one another). He does well in his swing, but, he HATES being in the car. He cries if he's not being fed or being held, and he doesn't really like his bed AT ALL! Maybe he's not smiling because he's just NOT HAPPY! I feel so bad. I don't know if he's fussy because he's uncomfortable, or because he's ticked off Many times he's not even happy being held. What the heck?!?!?! I have never had a colicky baby, so I don't know if this qualifies, but he seems different than other colicky babies I've seen. Sorry for venting. You guys know I wouldn't trade him I just wish he was happier. What do you think?

I'm sorry he's not happy, maybe it's because you haven't share any pictures with his JM aunties?
I don't know much about being colicky, Alex did go through a face that he was just not happy, but it ended up being gas, he was very uncomfortable because of that. Have you talked to his doc? Maybe they can help you out, maybe it's as simple as changing something around.

Kelty....Wow Max is 7 weeks already!! Time really does fly by! I just wanted you to know that I don't think that Cecil was smiling on purpose by 7 weeks....I know I am terrible, but I would habe to check his baby book to be sure, but I think that it was closer to 8 weeks when he started smiling. Maybe Max IS happy, but just hasn't quite figured out how to show you yet?? You are a good mamma, and you are doing a great job with Max. Hang in there...I bet he'll be giving you gummy grins before you know it.
