I don't know if you guys remember when Robbie had strep this summer (when he had the blood in his urine)? Well, after months of reccuring positive strep tests (his last one being the day before Thanksgiving) they have put him on daily low dose antibiotics to protect his kidneys. Last week we saw the ENT and they are going to take his tonsils out on January 7th, the day after his 9th birthday. I am sooo darn scared to have my little guy go through surgery. It's so hard because I know that if we don't treat him, there could be permanent kidney damage, but, I also with that he didn't have to go through any of this... He never shows any signs of being sick. He may complain of back pain, but, that's usually it. No sore throat, no fever, no headache, nothing... He'll be out of school for at least a week. He'll then be restricted to no real physical activity for about 2 weeks. They wanted to do it last Thursday but we couldn't schedule it that quickly. And, then we decided to wait until after the holidays. Poor little guy...
Im sorry to hear this. It's always hard when your child goes through surgery, I really hope he recovers quickly and stays healthy. Sorry you have to go through this. Please keep us updated on how it goes.
