Sorry I haven't been around but Jacob is here and I am super busy. Thankfully Amanda came on and let you all know (thanks Amanda ). His labour was awesome, I worked through most of it. I ran a full clinic while in labour. I have been having so many braxton hicks that I didn't even realize I was in labour. Plus Benjamin's labour was SO painful I couldn't even breath or deal with it in any way and had to get a epi at 3cm. So anyho, I worked a full day, took the subway home while having contractions (at this point I realized I was in labour). DH picks me up at the subway station and I tell him I am in labour and he starts timing them. He was telling me they were 4-5 minutes but I didn't believe him so opted to go home and get our things before going to the hospital because I didn't want to get sent home for being under 3cm's. Once we got to our house the contractions got a lot more painful, still managable but very, very painful so I told him we needed to go the hospital quickly. DH was a little panicky because he was timing them at 3 minutes (I still didn't believe he was timing them right). When we got to the hospital the stupid lady at the desk didn't believe DH that they were 3 minutes apart but after timing them herself realized they were 2 minutes apart and we were seen right away and find out I was 7 cm and going to have a baby very soon. I freaked out because I didn't think I could push without an epi so I was telling everyone I wasn't having a baby without one and they needed to get on it right away. Luckily they skipped a few steps and I have an epi within 20 minutes. He was born a couple of hours later. The epi actually only froze one side so I did feel a lot of it but it wasn't that bad. And it was great that it went so fast. So Jacob was born January 13th at 9:29 pm, he was 7 lbs, 15oz and we made it to 38 weeks! Full term! He is already WAY different then Benjamin. Being as he is not premature, he cries to eat and loves eating. It's great! We are doing great bfing but I am not latching him properly and it hurts. I am going to get to see the lac consultant ASAP and get this worked on because I am loving how great things are going so far. I had so many problems with Benjamin and I was so worried about how it would go this time and I am so excited that it's going so well. Benjamin is loving his new brother. He ignored me for a couple of days (which was incrediably difficult) but he has never showed any hate for his brother. He loves helping and watching him and sitting next to me when I feed him. Needless to say we have been SO busy, we haven't really sat down since we left the hospital, and thank God for DH or I don't even know how I would be doing this. So I might be sparse for a bit but I do check in and see how you are all doing, even if I don't always get a chance to comment. I'll post some pics the next spare five seconds I get on here. Might be a couple of days
WOW WOW WOW !!!!

welcome to the world Jacob !!!!!
I can't wait to see pics and hear about life with two baby boys.
Check out the BFing board if you have a chance, and Kellymom is an amazing online resource if you need quick answers. BFing is hard at first, but sooo worth it.

Oh my gosh, what a great story! You are so lucky you got there when you did. I am like you, would totally FREAK if I couldn't get an epi. I am so happy to hear that things went so well and that he is doing so well with the eating. I am super excited for you and can't wait to see pics!
