I have been bfing for a whole week and two days! I am so excited about it after having so many problems with Benjamin. I was totally prepared to formula feed and thought it would be the same as with Benjamin but everything is going so well. I can't believe it has been a whole week and we are still doing so good. Jacob even gained an oz since he came home at his appt on Monday. I was beaming.

*I know almost all the Mommies on here are having problems bfing and I hope this doesn't offend any of you, or any ffing Mommies. Benjamin was ff so I don't mean any disrespect. Just wanted to celebrate my hard work.

You SHOULD celebrate! That fabulous news, Sabina. Good for you for trying again, even though it didn't work out with Benjamin! I hope it continues to go smoothly.

oh that is awesome and definitely worth celebrating!!! I had a (comparatively) easy time BFing Savannah too and sometimes felt bad b/c so many of the other mamas in my DDC were having tough time....but hey, if you get a baby who latches easily and loves to BF definitely celebrate it!

I for one am really happy to read this - I had enormous b/f probs with Gaby & ended up formula feeding her pretty much as soon as we got home from the hospital (well, I expressed & supplemented for 10 days)... and am really hoping that I can get the hang of this breastfeeding thing for #2...

I think so many vocal lactivists make it sound like it if it's not easy you're doing something wrong (which isn't what you sounded like at all!). It can be SO HARD, so you should celebrate when you get a break!

Patrick was really hard at first. He had a terrible latch. But 2 weeks in he suddenly "got it" and suddenly it became so easy and I celebrated that too!

So congrats!

I'm hoping to go for a year then switch him on to milk. I would like to never give him formula if I can avoid it. I just have to learn how to pump when he isn't eating to store it so I can eventually go out and leave with him someone. I never had to do that with Benjamin so that's all new to me.

That is so wonderful Sabina - congrats!! It gives me hope that maybe I will be able to BF with the next one. Have you posted pics yet? I check in every couple days to check. I hope I didn't miss them somewhere.
