Well since things are starting to get into a little routine now, I finally have some time to post.
Nolan is here!!! His birth was AMAZING....I couldn't have asked for a more perfect birth. Minus the ridiculously long early labor (like 24 hours-ish).....I delivered within 4 hours of getting to the hospital. I went from 5cms to pushing in about 11 minutes...once my water broke (which was after getting to spend about 3 minutes in the whirlpool tub I was SO looking forward to laboring in.....), he was born in 4 contractions. And he is SO perfect!!! For a baby 5 days overdue he was pretty tiny - 7 lbs 14 oz, 21 inches long. I kept saying there was a reason he wasn't wanting to be born and apparently that was it! I can't imagine how tiny he would have been at 38 or even 39 weeks!
He is such an easy baby so far.....nurses like a champ. We are stuck using a nipple shield right now (ughhhh) but I'm going to start working on weaning him off of it. But it does make nursing successful if not a little more complicated. He had his first pedi appointment Saturday and he had gained 3 oz in two days, so once we can ditch the shield I will feel like we are nursing champions!!!
And here is where I get to show off. He is SO alert during the day....and at night, he sleeps like a champ in between nursing sessions. I couldn't have made a better baby if I ordered him from a catalog. He makes being a first time mommy so easy!!!
I am just SO in love with my little man!!! I'm so lucky to be his mommy.
