My poor little one has pneumonia! The other baby that I watch went through the same thing last week and I was hoping Juliana would fight it off. No such luck. She had a coughing fit the night before last, but it was a dry cough. Then she was fine yesterday....maybe a tiny bit more fussy. At 2 am I woke up and could hear her breathing fast and shallow. I went to check on her and she was burning up. Took her temp at 102.5. Gave tylenol and waited awhile....it went up to 103.9. So we went to ER. They said her chest x-ray looks pretty similar to the other baby's. Viral pneumonia....but they did give me antibiotics in case it seemed to get worse, etc., as sometimes a secondary bacterial infection can set in. So for now we just snuggle, sleep, and keep her fever down. And hope hope hope no one else gets sick.

Hugs Hugs Hugs!!! I hope Julianna gets better soon, and the rest of you stay healthy too. Do you guys have a nebulizer? That seemed to really help Cecil when he had pneumonia.

I hope she gets better soon !!
it is so tough to see them sick !
I agree with Sam, a nebulizer will help, we got one for Katie when she had pneumonia.
I am also a firm believer in Vick's vapor rub when anyone is sick

Thanks ladies! Last night was rough, she woke up often and just moaned. So, my head is foggy today...DH has tonight off, so I'll get some help at least. She does seem to have turned a corner this evening. She is climbing again, drinking pedialyte, and even ate half an avocado. We went to the doc this afternoon and he called it bronchyitis instead of pneumonia. Either way, he is still thinking viral and we just ride it out.

Juliana is sleeping a ton, but definitely feeling better when she isn't sleeping. Her fever is down. No one else has gotten sick, just the babies. My best guess is that it was probably RSV....because it often involves respiratory, most kids get it at some point before 2, and older kids and adults don't get sick. Guess we'll never know though.

Awww sorry I saw this so late. I am so glad she is feeling better. I was a mess when Jacob had it and the chest x-ray was SO awful Glad both the babies are feeling better and nobody else got sick. How are you recovering from no sleep?

Hi Sabina!

Those chest x-rays are bad, aren't they? Lucky for me, I'm preggo so DH had to go down there and help hold her into the "torture device" but Cori and I could hear her screams. Cori was kinda worried. We are all starting to get more sleep now and doing well.

I am glad she is feeling better !

that x-ray contraption for babies is terrible ! Katie screamed so much !
we took her out and they had to do it again since the film wasn't clear enough!
I am so glad she didn't have to do it the last time she was x-rayed! she just sat up in the hospital bed
