I planted a tree for the baby I lost, I forget what it's called, but it's supposed to be a hardy little thing that blooms in fall/winter. Well, it tried to bloom last year, but never blossomed. This winter, there's a little bloom on it. I really was afraid that it was going to die, some of the leaves didn't look so hot, but it's really doing well. I will post a picture later today of it.

edited to add pics:

I had a mini rose bush that my brother had given us when Cassie died. Last year it tried so hard to bloom on her due date! It was about 40 degrees outside, all the other rose bushes were dormant and this little one really tried to bloom. I have pictures of it with frost on the ground next to it.

But over the summer we had a huge heat wave and it died I felt really bad about that but then I realized it too is kind of a metaphor for Cassie because it died around the time Sadie was born and Cassie's 1 year anniversary of her death. How strange it that? It was like it was staying alive long enough to look after Sadie and once Sadie was born Cassie's job of watching over her in my tummy was done.

I am sorry the bush died, but that is so sweet, Susan. You can always tell Sadie that she had her own little angel.

My mother planted a rose bush for Cora, with an angel water-catcher (which is funny b'cuz it's in Las Vegas...no water...)

She apologized for the lack of weeding around it:

The bushes are beautiful...er, the plants.

Susan, I'm so sorry about the rose, but WOW. I think you're right...Sadie has a very good little angel.
