I posted my IVF success story already - had twins after throwing everything except the kitchen sink at my infertility. I'd had 4 losses prior, all 1st trimester, with one determined as trisomy 8. To recap, I did the following:
acupuncture
changed to diabetic diet (on advice from acupuncturist, who said keeping your blood sugar steady helps calm the immune system)
gave up alcohol, since it can affect egg quality
consulted a reproductive immunologist (
Here for more info) who advised us to try LIT, and we did, one round
4 months later, did one cycle of IVF, with PGD and ICSI
It was a success!
But what I wanted to mention this time is that I'm pregnant AGAIN, and according to doctors, I shouldn't be. My baby is over 17 weeks along & the amnio says he is healthy as can be. Knock on wood! I was given a 2% chance of ever conceiving a healthy baby on my own when I was 38, and at 40, my current age, those odds were supposed to slip into oblivion. Yet, here I am.
I didn't do any kind of medical assistance, Baby Boy is a surprise. So, maybe the LIT worked? There are really no stats to prove efficacy so I wanted to say that in my case, I've had very positive evidence in LIT's favor! Of course, I'm still not drinking since I'm breastfeeding, so maybe that helped my eggs along. Good luck ladies, I always think of this board as "home" and wish you all the best.
