Sorry I didn't get the reply thread. After about 10 weeks gestation you can find the baby's heart beat via doppler. I used either Aloe Vera Gel or a KY type gel on my lower abdomen. Just above the pubic bone. (your uterus doesn't reach your navel until 20 weeks gestation so you can estimate the area by dividing it from pubic bone to belly button) Apply a decent amount of Gel to your stomach and place the doppler on. Listen using the headphones (one set is included but there are two jacks for a partner to hear too) Make sure the sound is on but not too high. Slowly move the doppler back and forth across your belly until you hear a sound like a horse galloping. HBs can range from around 120-180 The display will show you the BPM right on the doppler. If the sound is too slow it is either the placenta or an artery, so move slowly and scan again. If you're checking close to 10 weeks it may take a while to find it as A) baby isn't very big and B) there's lots of room for baby to move! You can also hear "fetal movement" before you actually feel it. I've used a doppler with each of my 4 pregnancies and never had an issue finding it. If you find it's difficult the first few times try drinking some juice and laying down flat for a bit. THIS IS NOT A REPLACEMENT FOR YOUR PHYSICIAN JUST FOR FUN!!
Awesome. I am interested, but not able to make any purchases until I get paid in about a month due to money issues. 04/11/12 is one of my paycheck weeks, would that be too late or would you have already found a buyer?
Thank you *Sharon* for the siggy
