I have been on the are you pregnant board, but just got a bft 2 days ago. This is my fifth pregnancy and I have noticed a few similarities. I am testing a theory I was told once about testing positive later for girls. With both of my sons I tested a week or more before and got a bfp. With my daughters I got bfps 11 days or later. With this one I tested 10 days and thought it was an evap line, but on day 11 it was a definate positive. My question is what day did you test positive (how many days before AF was due) and what are you having? Thanks

I tested positive at 9 dpo (this was my first ever bfp) and we're having a boy!

Not sure what this baby is but with my daughter, I didn't get a positive until AF was almost a week late!

not sure what this baby is yet will know hopefully in 12 days, but I believe I got my BFP at 9 or 10 DPO.

I tested 8 days AFTER my AF was due with my son
With this one, I tested 5 days BEFORE my AF was supposed to show.....although we don't know what we're having quite yet

Lurker here. Tested pos exactly 1 week after af was due with my daughter. This baby I tested super dark ++ at 11dpo, but had dark to + OPKs from 8dpo on. Don't know the gender yet, but am hoping for a boy, so I love your theory, lol.
Those are the only ones that I could tell you the dates or genders for. I didn't know the genders for any of my mcs, and some I never tested positive for or didn't test bfp until 2+ months. So that wouldn't help your theory much either way.

I just got my BFP yesterday. I was 12DPO & about 2 days before AF was due.
I'm getting boy vibes, but I'm not sure when we'll find out. DH wants to wait

Hi!
You may have something there...I thought maybe I just tested positive earlier because they were subsequent pregnancies. With DD, I tested about 14 DPO, and negative. Tested again a week later (so about 21 DPO), and that's when I had the BFP - but it still took it's time showing up.
With DS#1, (tested approx 16 DPO), it didn't go positive until the 5 minute mark (the test said to stop testing at 3 min) - I phoned up the manufacturer, and they said it was a positive.
With DS#2, I tested about 16 DPO, and WHAM! It was like an instantaneous BFP. It was so fast and so dark I figured I must be having twins (but I didn't).

Thanks everyone. So far the theory is pretty accurate. I am sure there are a few cases here and there that are different. I went back on the Am I Pregnant board and looked at a lot of tests and most the early ones were boys and the later ones were girls. Some people don't even test until 12 dpo so unless it is a controlled group we will never truly know. I am anxious to find out what everyone is having and compare.

with my son I tested negative on all hpts, and even the doctor urine test came out negative. It wasn't until the blood test that we actually recieved conformation at that was at almost 6 weeks, when I went in for the follow up appointment to see what our next step was going to be.
With my daughter daughter I got the BFP at 7dp3dt.

Had to pop in here, hope you don't mind!
With all THREE of my pregnancies I nver got a bfp until 16-18dpo, so late and i have THREE BOYS!
This theory does not prove true for me!

I got a BFP at 19dpo with my dd and this pregnancy I got a BFP at 10dpo but no clue what it is! I am feeling boy and I am hoping the theory is right!

Don't know the DPO stuff but i tested positive with a girl 2 days (or maybe one? i don't remember) after AF was due.....could be 3 days after.....well you will figure it out. But tested only once so i don't know
