I found out 5 days ago that I am expecting my first child. I am happy about it, but my emotions are driving my husband crazy! What are the normal emotions, and what do I do to keep our sanity?

Sweetie, I know exactly what you mean...For four months, I didn't know whether to cry, get mad or vomit. It was usually a combination of the three. I actually lost weight in the beginning because all I could do was vomit and stress (which is not good). Is your husband understanding? Does he realize that these emotions are typical of pregnancy...I know its easier said than done but try talking to him about the way you feel and explain that it will go away in time. This may sound cheesy to some people but with my second child, I kept a journal and wrote my feelings down in it...Since I didn't have a site like this to help me vent, I did it in writing. It's a very emotional and scary ride in the beginning but its also very exciting so your are probably going to continue to have mixed feelings for a bit but eventually they should die down (at least mine did). Everything you are feeling is completely normal and its ok to be this way. You are the one carrying this child and your hormones are going to continue to change but just continue to think about the beautiful result and it should help you cope...plus asking questions on here and being able to talk to others that are going through the same things as you should be the best coping mechanism of all. Hope you start feeling better soon hun! It will get better I promise.
