Hi ladies. I just got a positive blood test today but I'm only 11 dpo which puts me at 3 1/2 weeks. I know its super early but I just started spotting. It was brown the first time and then red the second. I realize it could be implantation but it still concerns me. I've been cramping off and on for the past few days (assuming its implantation). I was just wondering if anyone else experienced this and is either still pregnant or had a healthy baby?

Thanks!

Hey hun. I had spotting in early pregnancy, but it was more around 7 weeks or so. It was brown & pink with a little red mixed in. It ended up freaking me out so I went to the ER and found out via u/s I had a twin pregnancy and one had quit developing around 5 weeks. But, I honestly don't think the bleeding was related at all because I never passed the baby. He/she is still in my uterus in a different sac from Maddox (my remaining little man ). My doctor did several extra u/s to see if the baby was going to reabsorb back into my body or if I was going to pass it and at my 13 week scan, it hadn't gotten any bigger or reabsorbed into my body at all. It was the same size. My OB said most likely I will just birth the embryo when I give birth to my son in March. Maddox is very healthy thus far and moves around like crazy So, don't give up hope!

Also, I know A LOT of the ladies in my DDC had early spotting and all their babies are just fine. I'll keep you in my T&P hun.

I had spotting early on before my period was due. I assumed at the time it was my period starting. It was brown then pink then red...had to wear liners. It lasted about 3-5 days. I thought maybe I got lucky that month with a light period. I was about 2.5-3wks at the time. Then I started spotting again about two weeks later & it was pink and at times red and I didn't think much of it until it was alot of red. I got really scared and thought I was m/c. I called the dr. and they took me in the next day and did an ultrasound & blood test. All was well, I saw a heartbeat and my hcg levels were right where they should be and cervix was closed. It continued red on and off...somedays some, then none, then alot. It started at 5wks and lasted until 8 weeks. Talk about being a nervous wreck! Its normal, heck my SIL bled and wore pads practically her whole pregnancy with my oldest nephew and now hes a healthy hormonal 16 yr old LOL.

Thanks hun! I hope I'm not like your SIL! lol That's suppose to be one of the good parts of pregnancy, not having to deal with pads! lol

Spotting is actually normal like that early on. Your body still thinks it should have a period, and doesn't quiet get that it doesn't have to. Plus the whole implanting thing.

Also your cervix and such tends to be more sensitive and you can have spotting from that as well.

Thanks hun. I got to speak with my new midwife's nurse today and she told me too that it was normal and as long as its not red or with strong cramping I should be ok and that it could last until 12 weeks or longer. I'm only about 4 weeks and I have my first appointment scheduled for Jan. 20th, labs for the 16th of this month and an ultrasound for the week of Jan. 12th!

I started spotting the day after getting my BFP with this pregnancy, but here I am at 36 weeks still pregnant. It was a lot like you described and only lasted a day or two. It scared me to death though and I was a nervous wreck for pretty much the whole first trimester. It is normal and is probably implantation bleeding. You are so sensitive down there right now and have so much blood flow. Good luck!

Thanks hun! Mine is still there a little bit but knock on wood I haven't had very much today and its mostly when I go to the bathroom. Every once in a while there's a tiny spot on the panty liner but when I get neauseaous it makes me feel less nervous and seeing that my face is still breaking out helped too lol. Never thought I'd say either of those!

Can't wait to hear your DH's reaction!! I think the way your going to set up with the sub onesie , test and all is a fantastic idea!

You also have to get back to us as to how your going to throw in that nasty Dr's face !!! Go Colleen !!

IMHO - if it's bright blood red now and on -- get it checked out, a tinge of pink shouldn't be cause for concern in most cases.

Hi hun,

I am so happy for you!!! You deserved this so much. I had spotting before finding out i was preggo and it was brown. Also had spotting on the third trimester. We are here alive and kicking both!. But ask your doc about it asap. Everytime i spotted i went to the doc the same freaking day for an u/s.....I was hysterical but better safe than sorry.....

HAPPY & HEALTHY 9 months!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks ladies! I went to the ER for the spotting on Christmas they did betas and they were 27,805. Did them again that Saturday 2 days later and they were about 40,000. My doctor ordered an ultrasound and found out I have a sub chronic hemorrhage. Baby looked healthy though, measuring exactly at how far along I was and a heartbeat of 123.9 bpm! I go for another ultrasound on the 12th!
