Hey ladies,

Did any of you get lots of BFNs with your HPTS only to find out via doctor blood test that you were in fact pregnant!?

I guess I'm not really banking on that being the case for me. But I"m on clomid, haven't had a period since October, my chart has been all over the d*** place, my bbs hurt, I've been nauseous for three days now and EVERYONE is trying to tell me that I HAVE to be pregnant regardless of what the tests say.

But I dont want to be seen as some crazy girl who walks into the doc's office and says "do a blood test" only to find out it's negative. I'm SO FRUSTRATED!!

sorry to vent...but thanks....

it is possible. What kind of test are you using?? Some pick up a higher level than some.

For some people though they just do not get a BFP on a pee test.... the blood test is the way to go for them.

GOOD LUCK!

I tried my own stick tests up to the day before AF was due -- got nothing but BFN. So I went to my OB b/c of the cramping (supposed symptoms) I was having. Did a stick test there...it came up negative. 30 minutes later, it was positive. Yeah, it's out of the time limit, but my doctor called me back to the office to take blood to make sure. It was such a faint positive. Blood test beta's came back at 6 -- talk about catching a SUPER EARLY pregnancy. The docs office did not believe I was pregnant b/c the count was so low... 1 week later (today) I find out my beta's came back at 413 -- to their surprise... it's scary how well you can read your own body -- if you think you are, then get yourself tested... unless you can hold out until AF comes -- me, i couldn't do it. LOL

Good luck to you!!! Are you having any other symptoms?

With my first I suspected I was pregnant, but HPTs kept coming back negative. Then I got so sick that to be on the safe side my doctor ordered a urine test. This was run by the hospital and also came back negative. I continued to get so sick until I ended up in the hospital. They did a CT Scan for ulcers and came back saying "we found a mass." Right after scaring the daylights out of me they said it was in the right place to be a pregnancy so they did b/w and my HCG levels were over 120,000. A u/s the next day confirmed that I was 12 weeks pregnant. With my second they wouldn't do b/w because I never got sick. Then a PA ran a urine test when she put me on medicine for a sinus infection and bronchitis. It came up a faint positive so I went to my midwife within about 2 days. She was able to immediately find the heartbeat so she ordered a u/s. Well, the next day I suddenly had a belly (I'm a popper, not a grower) and my u/s confirmed I was pregnant. He measured about 18 weeks and they were able to confirm that he was a he beyond any doubt. So the first I never had a positive HPT, but with the second I got it well into the second trimester. Hope this helps!
