okay ladies.. im curretnly 2 days late for af..
im having symptoms of night quesy.. for a week straight. bbs slightly bigger, moody and emotional...
i went and bought a clear blue digital from walmart today and took it at 3 pm... and it said "not pregnant" but being the curious person iam to see what the big deal is about with these and what i spent my money on i took it apart...
and low and behold the test strip had a good test line and a faint pos.. and its still there.. now i went to the site on these and they said the only reason why the test would say "not pregnant " was becuase the line wasnt dark enough.. but it was there.. so the customer service lady said that the clear blue are still made by the same as dollar tree tests. they jsut put the resluts in words... takes the guess work out of it
now im the kind that likes to look for the line and wont take the batteries word for it..
so my question is.. if there is a second line there is it still considered pos? or should i take the "not pregnant" word for it casue the sensitivty is 50 miu for it to say "pregnant" so maybe its an early prego. im only 2 days past af.. i need to know soonl. i have blood test result coing back tomorrow so we will know for sure how much a of a dud they really are..

I'm not sure, I've never taken one apart. lol
I would recommend testing with a first response or answer test, as they are much more sensitive than the digital and will show the results sooner.
Good luck!

I hate to be a downer, but digitals ALWAYS have a second line and the lady at customer service should have told you that.

Hi there,
Just popping by to offer you some insight...basically, digital tests when taken apart almost always have two lines (lines don't mean anything). Good luck to you moving forward!
Here's a information from a site that will be helpful to explain the two lines:
http://www.peeonastick.com/hpt/digitalsecret.html
"So the Clearblue Easy Digital (and e.p.t. Certainty) take away the need for interpretation with a digital display that says either "Pregnant" or "Not Pregnant." No lines to analyze. No color adjusting. No halogen bulbs. NO FUN!
When the test strip is ejected from the digital reader, however, there are lines on it. And, because it's in our nature, we peestickaholics ("Hi Meg!") want to analyze those lines. The test instruction booklet says the lines "must" be disregarded. But . . . why? Doesn't the test work the same way as every other HPT? Don't 2 lines = pregnant???
So, after the baby went down, I pulled up the FDA website and U.S. Patent and Trademark Office site and waded through FDA applications and patent documents. I was a woman with an obsession. Er, mission. And now I will share the Secret of the Digital with you...."

I have tore many a digi apart to find two lines. when I got my postive digi yes the other line was quite darker but like POAS site says about compairing some slight variance that our eyes can't pick up. Thats why when testing I only used a digi after I knew that indeed I was pregnant. Good luck!

If I were you, rather than drive your self crazy I would just get another test. Since dollar tree tests are made by the same company and make sense to read I would try that. It's hard when you know it could go either way.

I would take a FRER test that one picks up a VERY low amount of HCG.
But that being said, most often pg or not those digital tests WILL have a second line, so you shouldn't evne look its like a tease!

Some of their tests actually pick up less, I wasn't even at 15 yet when I got my BFP, I think they said I was at 7 or 8, don't remember exactly.

Sorry for the bad results. At least you have some information for testing later. With my CBE Digi I didn't use it until I saw a dark BFP on an IC test. The sensitivity of tests varies so much even within the same box that it just spared me seeing that evil second word.

Dang. Searching the USPTO site? That is some major dedication. I'm a Patent Agent, and that wouldn't even have occured to me.
Curious as to what you do...

Just to clarify here, I wasn't the one personally searching the USPTO site. I was just quoting from the peeonastick.com site, hence the quotation marks I used for the quote below the url I linked to for the original poster's reference. So, it was the woman on the peeonastick site that did all of the research.

The woman who runs the Peeonastick.com site is very very wonderful. She has done a great job of dispelling and interpreting info.

digitals work like opks. if the second line is darker then you are pregnant. i took one and took it apart and the test line was 2x darker than the control line. i would buy a FRER and take that!!! G/L your symptoms sound great!!!

I'm around 5 weeks. I've taken maybe... 15 tests. Clearblue Digital still says NOT PREGNANT even though all the others say positive. I don't like that test.
