Was it your 1st month trying, 2nd month, etc etc? My husband and I are on our 3rd month TTC and I was just curious how long it took some of you ladies.
Did you do anything different that resulted in you getting your BFP?
Thanks Ladies!

We hit it on our first try, but I'm extremely fertile . This is my fourth pregnancy and all my other children were conceived on the first go. This time ttc has been a little stressful and it's taken longer to get the result I wanted... it has been exhausting to say the least! I commend everyone that keeps trying every month... I really don't know how long I could deal with the stress of trying every month. Good luck to you!

It took us 14 months and 16 or 17 cycles (had a few short ones). This is our first pregnancy and we're very excited. I didn't do anything different that cycle exept drink fertiliTea every day between the last day of my period and the day I O'd. We only BD'd the day before my O date too. We were shocked by the BFP since I had my annual exam 3 DPO and my doctor said there was no way I could get pregnant that cycle from only BDing the one time...well we showed her!!! lol We used OPKs (I charted temps for a few months when we first started TTC so I knew I O'd between CD 12 and 14 but I still did OPKs), I drank fertiliTea, we used pre-seed and I tilted my hips up and to the left (I have a tilted uterus so tilting to the left helped I think) and I did that for probably less than 5 mins. All of that we did most of the cycles we were TTC other then drinking so much of the fertiliTea and tilting my hips to the left. I hope you guys get your BFP soon!!!

WOW! That is crazy! congrats!
To answer the question: with both my boys we got pregnant very fast, within the 1st month or 2 of not using any birth control. We have stopped using birthcontrol this November and still haven't gotten pregnant..which is crazy to me, I thought for sure it would happen right away. We haven't been actively TTC though, until this month, we just weren't "preventing".

It took us 10 months & 11 cycles. I had just started looking into REs the day before I got my BFP. I thought it'd never happen! I'd charted, used OPKs, Pre Seed, propped up my hips after BDing, BD'd everyday, BD'd every other day, tried various positions...you name it, I was willing to try it! LOL
The cycle I got my BFP, I took Evening Primrose Oil (EPO) from cd1 until I O'd & I also took baby aspirin every day until I got my BFP. I have a funny feeling the baby aspirin is what did it.
Try not to worry too much if it doesn't happen right away. I know it's discouraging after a while, but sometimes it takes time. 90% of couples will conceive within a year, 75% within 6 months. So it doesn't happen right away for everyone. Good luck!

Thanks ladies for all your responses, I appreciate it.
We already have 1 daughter and conceived her in 1 shot! LOL. So the fact that we are on our 3rd month TTC seems way too much for us! I am currently in the 2 ww so wish us luck please. The first two cycles we were trying we BD every day around O...this time we tried we BD every other day around O, also we used Pre-seed this time so maybe this will be it. I sure hope so!
Also, I've put on about 15 pounds the last few months just b/c I haven't been working out or dieting like I usually am. I would have a good excuse for being lazy about not being so strict about my diet if I'm pregnant again!! Haha!
Thanks again ladies!

It took us 10 months. For us, I think the biggest thing was getting a couple huge projects finished so our life was finally in order. It was hard TTC with the big projects on our backs! The month I got my bfp was literally the same exact month I finished my project. go figure! Other than that, I did everything as if I wasn't TTC -- went skiing, drank wine, did yoga every morning and laughed alot. Didn't chart or anything, only bd'd when I was "in the mood".
Good luck and lots of baby dust to you~!

I got my BFP on my second cycle trying. I had been on the pill for so long before then that I didn't really know how long my natural cycles were. So to be honest, I think I timed BD'ing wrong the first cycle. I thought my cyles were 28 days, but that first cycle trying (2nd cycle off BCP) was 24 days. The cycle I conceived on, I stopped taking Vit C supplements (which I read could affect ovulation) and stopped most of my caffeine intake. I also bd'ed the 5 days before ovulation. I used opk's that cycle as well.

We got pregnant on our second cycle trying.
But I've read that it takes the average healthy couple 6 months to a year to conceive, so I wouldn't worry too much yet!

we got pregnant the fourth month we were ttc. But at that point and having gotten numerous BFNs I told DH that I didn't want to take anymore tests (pregnancy or ovulation), I didn't want to track my cycle, and I didn't want to be disappointed anymore so we decided to just have fun and whatever happened happened. I got pregnant that month.

My son was born May 08', we were NTNP and I got my period back Nov 08' - completely quit BFing the end of Jan 09' and then got PG March 09'.
So I guess it was on cycle #4 since having my periods and cycle #1 since finishing BFing.

I had my IUD out in DEC (Dec 13 to be exact). We started ttc right away but had no idea where I was in my cycle. I was on Mirena so I hadn't had a period in 3 years. I got my first AF on Jan 15 and not again! I got my BFP on Feb 10! This is my third baby...my first two were conceived while I was on the pill so I think I must be pretty fertile! Good luck to you!

It looks like I'm an odd ball here since it took us four years of TTC and IVF to get pg with our miracles.
I agree with pp, it can take the average couple up to a year to conceive which is considered within the normal range.

It took us 21 months - we had actually stopped trying after about a year of different fertility drugs & IUI. DH got laid off and we stopped. IT was that 1st month it happened. We could and still can't believe it. I stopped stressing, I never took an OPK, the first time in 21 months. I didn't write down when my period started which I had done every month. So my advise don't stress. That what I think was my problem. GL
