Hi there! I figured I'd pop in and comment since I just had this surgery done in March. I had a pretty rough recovery, but I had more things going on than most. As far as the surgery, it's pretty easy. I arrived at the hospital, got my IV started and waited for them to take me to the OR. When they where wheeling me to the OR they put stuff in my IV to make me sleepy so I don't even remember seeing the actual OR. The last thing I remember is them saying goodnight and to breath into a mask. I woke up and was in post op. Once I peed they let me go. I had endometriosis adhesions cauterized (basically burned) off and they also discovered I have a congested uterus, which basically means I have more blood vessels going to my uterus than normal. It just causes pain. My incisions are tiny, one was in the belly button and the other is bikini line, super low. That night wasn't too bad, I was even walking around, but the next day was pretty painful for me (but again I have the other pain causing issues that most people don't have) The worst pain though is the gas they use to inflate your belly. It causes shoulder pain. That pain lasted me like a week and a half. And my belly was so big I seriously looked like 6 months pregnant for at least a week. Walking helps, but I couldn't walk enough it seems. I was in pain all and all about 2 weeks, but most people recover in a few days. All in all its really not a bad surgery. The actual incisions don't hurt at all, but I did feel like someone played basketball with my reproductive system. The majority of the pain is just from the gas. Oh I did bleed for about a week. So that was my experience. Although I didn't have any scar tissue removed so your experience could be totally different. But I was a worst case scenerio with my other issues and it still wasn't all that bad. Good luck to you! Don't worry about being put to sleep. That's the easy part! Most people do really well with anesthesia.
