Hi I am lurking from TTCAL and TTC and I would like to ask a question if you dont mind. How long after getting your FIRST positive OPK do you actually Ovulate? I took an OPK the day before yesturday, yesturday and today and they were all positive. The ones yesturday were darker then the ones I took the day before yesturday and the one today was about the same in color as the ones yesturday. I am not exactly sure when to say I have ovulated or is I have ovulated yet. I also dont know when to start my 2 Week wait. Thanks in advance for your help.

That number can actually vary. Your metabolism and other factors can affect how slowly or quickly LH works out of your system or even builds up which can make it look like a long surge. I typically O'd the day of my last positive OPK, but one cycle I O'd the day of my 3rd positive (I had 4 that cycle) and others I O'd the day after. To be safe I would start your 2WW the day after your last positive OPK. Charting would definitely help you know what's going on better though. You may see a noticeable dip on O day in addition to the OPK and a spike would give you certainty of when your 2WW started.

Good luck!

I agree with MamaAnna...and I've had 2 doctors tell me different things. One said to stop testing after you get your first positive and the other said you ovulate 12-24 hours after you get a positive. I was also told to make sure to continue to BD every other day for the week following a positive. Good luck hun!
